NEW YORK, -- Corn Field in Times Square -- Korn announced today that they will be joining the effort to tour green by
fueling all their vehicles with bio-diesel. This effort will lessen their
environmental impact on this year's Family Values Tour by using
domestically produced bio-fuels in all 16 of their touring vehicles. The
band is working with Music Matters' SMART (Sustainable Minded Artists
Recording Touring) program and Conserv Fuel to fuel their vehicles with
domestically produced bio-fuel which can be derived from a variety of plant
based matter including; soy, corn, and various other vegetable and animal
oils. Korn is using bio- diesel for their biofuel needs which will reduce
the CO2 emissions that tour produces by almost 50 tons. "We can't save the
planet overnight but this is our way of saying everyone has to start
somewhere. As a touring band it's our responsibility to start making a
difference. We encourage all other bands touring this summer to do the
same," said Jonathan Davis.

Texas Biker Band Elvis Tribute CD "Going Back to Memphis: A Biker Band Tribute to Elvis"

Band to Donate Royalty to BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) and St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.

Houston, TX, July 18, 2007 -- Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Elvis' death, Texas' #1 Biker Rally Band, Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards have recorded a new Jambone Records CD,"Going Back To Memphis: A Biker Band Tribute To Elvis" at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee.

Since the early nineties, Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards' high-energy Texas Blues and southern-fried rock 'n roll have made them one of the top biker bands, performing at major rallies, dealerships and swap meets across the country along with David Allan Coe, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, Ten Years After, Canned Heat, Bad Company, Mark Farner (Grand Funk) and others. They have earned many awards and garnered seven # 1 songs on Bluesrock charts.

In 2003, the band was recruited to perform at the former Elvis Presley's Club on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. After seeing the audience's overwhelming response to Kelton's own interpretations of Elvis songs, Graceland insisted that Kelton perform 90% Elvis songs in his nightly show. The tourists loved the versions, and the reps from Elvis Presley Fan Clubs gave the band "two thumbs up."

Whenever the band was on break from Elvis Presley's Club, they toured the country performing at bike rallies, where their high-energy southern rock versions of Elvis songs were enthusiastically accepted by legions of rowdy rebels in black leather.

"We changed some arrangements, added guitar and harmonica solos giving those songs a whole new, grittier feel. We even added a bass guitar solo on Hound Dog, and it rocks," says Kelton. "Bikers always request our versions of Elvis songs," says Kelton. "There's nothing like having a dozen Biker Babes up on stage with us bumping and grinding to one of our Elvis songs."

With 2007 commemorating the 30th anniversary of Elvis' death, and Graceland Harley-Davidson unveiling the official "Elvis Harley" during Elvis week in Memphis, it is only natural that Mean Gene Kelton & The Die Hards be the ultimate band to record the ultimate Biker Band Tribute to Elvis.

"We are honored that Graceland and Elvis Presley Enterprises loved our Southern rock Biker Band Tribute to Elvis concept, and gave us their official blessings to 'TCB,'" says Kelton.

"Recording at Sun Studio in Memphis was a dream come true. We were treated like movie stars. We stood in the same spot where Elvis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash once stood."

"We set up our gear and performed all thirteen songs, live and raw, just like we'd play them at a bike rally," says Kelton. "I refused to use click tracks or scratch vocal tracks. We did very minimal over-dubbing. I wanted to capture the band's live, raw, unpolished feel and unbridled enthusiasm for this project. It kicked a**!"

Kelton is donating a special royalty from the sale of each CD to two separate charities, one being B.A.C.A.,(Bikers Against Child Abuse). "I truly believe in their cause," says Kelton. "Little children shouldn't have to live in fear and they need someone who will look out for them the way BACA does."

"We are also donating a royalty to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis. When I told my Mother we were donating a royalty to St. Jude's," says Kelton, "her voice cracked as she reminded me that we lived in Memphis when I was eight years old and almost died of pneumonia. St. Jude's saved my life and did not charge her a dime. I am very proud to have reached a point in my life and career where I can give back something to these great organizations so they can help other families the way we were helped."

"Going Back To Memphis" showcases Kelton's own, unique houserockin' Texas blues and southern rock interpretations of songs previously recorded by Elvis, including Jailhouse Rock, Polk Salad Annie, Hound Dog, Heartbreak Hotel, Steamroller and others. The title track, "Going back To Memphis" is a Kelton original about the second coming of Elvis that hit #1 on internet Rockabilly Charts.

"Elvis' music is all about having fun," says Kelton. "We want people to forget about their troubles, crank up the volume, jump up and dance and just have fun listening to the CD."

There will be a lot of fun to be had at the wild and crazy CD release party planned for Friday, August 17th, 2007, at Coyote Ugly on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee. Other CD release parties are planned for Biker friendly locations in Texas and across the country shortly thereafter. Tour dates, booking info and the new CD "Going Back To Memphis: A Biker Band Tribute To Elvis" is available at http://www.meangenerocks.com .

Lost John Wayne Recording Digitally Released by Toucan Cove

Spirituals by "The Duke" Now Captured for Posterity

Los Angeles, CA, -- There are few more lasting iconic American figures than John Wayne. The Oscar-winning actor, who would have been 100 this past May, used the medium of film to celebrate the heroic mythology of this country. Whether the pioneering spirit of the cowboy in the West or fierce patriotism of the armed forces, his appearance in more than 150 movies marked him not only a Hollywood legend, but a comfortable, authoritative voice people came to revere.

That unmistakable voice was captured some forty years ago by executive producer Snuff Garrett, and with the recent uncovering of the recordings, Toucan Cove is proud to release Walk with Him to all digital services this month. Walk with Him includes three titles - "Walk with Him," "I Have Faith" and "The Prayer" - in both their original arrangements as well as alternate takes, one of which is a Christmas version of "The Prayer."

It is no secret that "The Duke" wasn't the most skilled vocalist, so in the era of the singing cowboys, his voice was replaced by a professional singer. It was a strong sense of religion that compelled him to offer that distinctive, commanding lead to the Walk with Him tracks.

Garrett's nearly proprietary relationship with the singing cowboys made him the clear choice for providing the exceptional level of production necessary for the best-loved actor of all time.

Having produced hits that shaped the great sound of the 1960s (including Bobby Vee ("Take Good Care of my Baby"), Gary Lewis & the Playboys ("This Diamond Ring") and Johnny Burnette ("You're Sixteen"), Garrett's personal love for the western stars of stage and screen brought to vinyl the immortal Roy Rogers, Rex Allen, Don Edwards and Bob Nolan. In addition to six #1 hits (including Vicki Lawrence's "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" also available digitally from Toucan Cove), Garrett's storied career also included soundtrack production for "Bronco Billy," "Smokey and the Bandit," and others during the 1980s modern western revival.

The historical, inspirational Walk with Him is available on the leading digital music sites now.

Nazz (Featuring Stewkey) to Make Rare "one off" Concert Appearance in Massachusetts, August 17th

The legendary psych-pop band Nazz will perform a 'one off' concert in Massachusetts, marking the band's 40th anniversary.

Webster, MA, -- The Night-Owl Music is proud to present for the first time, the legendary psych-pop band NAZZ. The band will make a rare 'one off' concert appearance on August 17th in Webster Massachusetts. The event will also mark the band's 40th anniversary.

Formed during the summer of 1967, Nazz (a term coined from a Yarbirds song entitled 'Nazz are Blue) rose out of the ashes of the Philadelphia bar band 'Woody's Truckstop' which included founding members Todd Rundgren (guitar) and Carson van Olsten (bass). The second half of the band was made up of drummer Thom Mooney, and Rhode Island vocalist 'Stewkey' who had arrived in the city by chance and misadventure.

Heralded as "the next big thing" on both sides of the Atlantic,
by 1969 the group had released three LPs and various singles including 'Hello it's Me' and the seminal psychedelic 'nugget' 'Open my Eyes'.

As the decade drew near to an end, so did the band. After Todd's departure the band continued, for a time to press on, making a notable appearance at the 'Texas International Pop Festival', however within a few months the original lineup had completely disintegrated.

In the late 1990's Stewkey reformed the band with an all new lineup of top class Philadelphia musicians. The singer, who had arrived in town by chance, had made a home there and has long been associated with Philly's rock-n-roll history. In recent years Nazz has performed a number of 'high profile' gigs in and around the city, such as the 'Philadelphia Thrills Show', 'Brotherly Love Festival' and more.

The special 'one night only' appearance in Webster Mass this coming August 17th will find Nazz ripping up the stage with a 'full throttle' setlist that will include their classic tunes as well as heavy new numbers. See them live and celebrate 'The Return of Nazzrock'.

Guitarist Explains How Anyone Can learn How To play Acoustic guitar

The acoustic guitar is one of the most played musical instruments available. Everyday, more and more people are yearning to learn how to play acoustic guitar.

Guitarist Anthony Jansen commented while it is not hard to learn the acoustic guitar, it can be extremely difficult to master it. The difference in the level of complexity between a beginner guitarist and an expert can be quite a large gap.

The question one is how can anyone learn to master the acoustic guitar in a relatively short time?

Anthony is one of those that passionate about playing the guitar since a few years ago. As he struggled to learn the acoustic guitar himself, he realized that what he was missing was actually a guide to learn the guitar.

Starting out with online study courses, Anthony can now play the acoustic guitar relatively well, including songs from his favorite artists.

He also mentioned that there are several ways that one can learn and master the acoustic guitar. A great method is always resorting to a guitar instructor. They can be found from a local newspaper classifieds or on the Internet. The only thing is to make sure that the guitar instructor’s background and track records are checked before proceeding.

Although looking for guitar instructors may be a great method, it may also be expensive and not everybody would have the time to do it.

Alternatively, interactive home and online courses can also be purchased. Courses nowadays are extremely helpful as there are many softwares to help anyone master the guitar in a relatively much shorter time and cut through the learning curve faster.

These courses are also designed in an interactive manner such as having games, jam tracks and play along songs so the learning experience will fun at the same time.

It is also important to do a little homework to find a good home or online acoustic guitar course to maximize the value the purchase.

Run Doris Run Together With Music Saves Lives On Vans Warped Tour

Seal Beach, Calif. – Music Saves Lives (MSL) (www.musicsaveslives.com ), the trusted conduit between music, entertainment and important life-saving causes, is teaming up with the Vans Warped Tour and up-and-coming band, Run Doris Run to encourage concert-goers to donate blood in exchange for VIP backstage passes.

In the weeks leading up to tour dates, MSL arranged multiple blood drives near tour venues, giving concertgoers many options on time and location. Less than an hour out of a donor's schedule allows the donor's donation to save up to three lives and also gives the donor VIP access to the bands backstage.

"Music Saves Lives is honored to be working with Run Doris Run and the Vans Warped Tour for such an important cause," said Russel Hornbeek, president and founder of Music Saves Lives. "We hope to not only get people to come out and donate blood but raise awareness on the importance of doing so."

Run Doris Run, a rock band based in Long Beach, is working hard to get the word out about MSL. With more than 60 bands on the Vans Warped Tour at each venue and a high likelihood of a cancelled performance by multiple artists, Run Doris Run is the official standby artist, filling for any artist unable to perform.

"We believe it is important to use what influences we have for a greater good," said Jared Wesley, bassist for Run Doris Run. "There's no greater good than saving lives and Run Doris Run is excited to be teaming up with Music Saves Lives to get our generation out to donate blood."

Started in 2002, Run Doris Run began a relationship with the American Red Cross promoting blood drives by performing at high schools and colleges. Today the band works with MSL to promote itself and the cause through a new creative avenue.

Run Doris Run is Jared Wesley, bassist; Ryan Koppel, vocals and guitar; Steven Peterson, vocals and guitar; and Mike Oncley, drums. This ambitious band followed the Taste of Chaos tour selling more than 5,000 albums and their fan base continues to grow. Their music is self-described as alternative rock and Run Doris Run will be the next best thing to hit the radio waves.

Music Saves Lives works to bring together the general community, the music industry and life saving organizations to ultimately save lives. Education is a key goal for MSL; aimed at the 14-28 year-old age bracket to help create a generation of a community who cares. The goal for MSL is to give people the opportunity to save lives through simple contributions, allow the music industry a chance to give back and to help nonprofit organizations reach the high school and college markets.

About Music Saves Lives

Music Saves Lives (MSL) is the conduit between, music, entertainment and important life-saving causes. Since beginning in 2005, the Music Saves Lives community has grown to be a trusted source for young individuals that care about lifesaving issues. MSL has focused its main efforts on blood donation and the bone marrow registry, reaching out by sharing face and educating.

Charity Auction on eBay for Gibson, Jimmy Page Aged EDS-1275 Double Neck Guitar

Charity Auction on eBay for Gibson, Jimmy Page Aged EDS-1275 Double Neck Guitar: #11 of 26 Signed and Played by Jimmy Page San Louis Obispo, CA - July 23, 2007 - Bidding has now started on eBay for the guitar that made “Stairway to Heaven” a hit.

A rare “aged” reproduction of Jimmy Page’s s signature EDS-1275 Double Neck Guitar is being sold for charity with eBay Giving Works, eBay’s dedicated charity listing program. The Jimmy Page Guitar Charity Auction runs July 23 to August 2, 2007 with 10% of the winning proceeds benefiting the MusiCares Foundation.

Guitar collectors and fans of Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin can place bids from now until 5 PM PST on August 2, 2007, when the charity auction will close. All bidders will be pre-qualified through Kompolt Online Auction Agency.

The winning bidder will receive #11 of the just twenty-six Limited Edition Gibson guitars replicated after the one Page played during the 1971 Led Zeppelin IV tour. Jimmy Page personally played and then signed each of the twenty-six, keeping #1 for himself. This particular replica is identical to the original inside and out, with not only the same unique electronics, but identical scrapes, scratches, dents and dings--all administered by Jimmy over the years through heavy tour use of the original guitar-- painstakingly recreated by Gibson’s Custom Shop, the industry pioneers and leaders of the guitar aging process.

Since the night it was purchased at a private “Platinum Night” event held at the San Jose, CA, Guitar Center earlier this year, the guitar has been kept sealed in the box - it has never been displayed publicly or privately. The only fingerprints on the guitar are from Jimmy Page himself.

The guitar comes with a Certificate of Authenticity personally signed by Jimmy Page.

Visit www.ebay.com/jimmypageguitar for more information or to place a bid.

Israel Houghton to Release First Book!

In conjunction with his September CD release, A Deeper Level, Grammy Award-winning artist Israel Houghton releases his first book project with Whitaker House.
New Kensington, Pennsylvania – July 2007 – In preparation to record their fourth live release, Israel and his New Breed team went on a forty-day fast to seek the heart of God and ultimately produce an anointed project that would take listeners to a “deeper level” in their relationship with God. The result was not just another hopeful best-selling album, but a deeper revelation into what it means to truly live a lifestyle of worship.

In A Deeper Level, Houghton encourages readers to let go of their routine lifestyles in order to experience a new reality in Christ. He urges members of the body to passionately pursue the heart of God by addressing the things that are dear to Him, such as feeding the poor and bringing about social change.

In addition to Houghton’s personal insights, members of the New Breed team include their thoughts on topics such as pulling down idols, being ever aware of God’s presence, and embracing new mind-sets. The book also includes images of band members and lyrics from the new CD.

When you come to live in the comforting, encouraging presence of God on a daily basis, it builds your confidence and faith in who He has made you to be. It is just so obvious to me that we haven’t even scratched the surface of what is available for us within the constant presence of God. ~Israel Houghton

A Deeper Level is the heart of Israel Houghton and New Breed. Each chapter is presented with a practical, down-to-earth, candid conversational style Israel Houghton has become affectionately known for. Throughout A Deeper Level Israel Houghton proves that worship is not just music. It is a lifestyle.

Israel Houghton has garnered acclaim as one of Christian and Gospel music’s foremost worship leaders, songwriters, recording artists, and producers. He is the recipient of multiple Dove and Grammy Awards and has performed with gospel luminaries such as CeCe Winans, Donnie McClurkin, and Yolanda Adams.

Source: N.Y.L.A. Entertainment Group

ATLANTA -- With the summer season bringing about a wave of mixtapes and the hottest mixshows, chances are you've heard of the summer's newest street anthem, "You Feel Me," by Rosco featuring Akon and Jadakiss. Perhaps it was on one of the more than 30 mixtapes circulating around with the single. Maybe it was on the countless hip hop websites, podcasts, and blogs mentioning it with rave reviews. Regardless of where its been heard, the fact is that the single is officially one of the hottest surfacing around.

"You Feel Me" has taken on a guerilla approach of its own. In just a few short weeks, the single has made its way through the hands of DJs, mixshows, and industry tastemakers worldwide creating a tremendous street response. Rosco has already recorded over 850 drop requests received from DJs nationwide and overseas and is constantly receiving additional requests for drops and mixtape features. The single is also topping charts in the overseas market (i.e. Berlin, Japan, London, Australia, Quebec, to name a few). Beyond that, several stations have already picked up the single for spins including: 102.9 WOWI, 92.1 WCDX, 92.7 WJBT, 96.3 KTTB, 103.9 KBDS, 98.3 KKFR, Music Choice Networks, Sirius satellite Channel 50, XM satellite channel 66, and many more. Of course a collaboration with some of the industry's finest- Akon and Jadakiss- makes for a great formula for a hit record, but Rosco undoubtedly holds his own with these two great artists and delivers on the single. Given the single's tremendous success, the next few weeks brings about increased efforts to ensure that every DJ, radio station, and media source knows about Rosco, but one thing's for sure the wheels have already been set in motion for a successful take-off.

While working as a children’s social worker for Los Angeles County Viviana tried out for LATV’s Be a VJ contest in 2001. Although she didn’t win the contest, producers asked her to work on the show anyway. Viviana hosted “LATV Live”, Los Angeles’s only live music video show, from 2003 until 2005. “LATV Live” provided Viviana the opportunity to interview various Latin artists during the live show and interacted with the live in-studio audience. This incredible experience allotted Viviana the perfect forum to showcase her natural ability to capture the attention of both the viewers at home and the in studio audience with her entertaining, intelligent and quick witted personality. Viviana has also hosted various shows through KJLA including “Instant Request” a Live video request show where viewers would call into the show live or chat online to request videos and interact with both her and her co-hosts. The show was enormously popular pulling in over 3 million viewers on some occasions. Recently Viviana appeared in the film “The Oakley 7”, a new horror film set to release this March. Currently Viviana is the host for the popular “Drive-Thru” show on LATV. The show’s target audience is 13-25 year olds who utilize email and Myspace to request their favorite videos. In addition to “Drive Thru” Viviana also hosts the Best of LATV and “LATV Does Hollywood” covering movie premiers and press junkets and “LATV en Concierto” which features performances and interviews from established and up and coming latino artists. Viviana has recently started writing and producing her own segment titled “Tu Voz”. “Tu Voz” is a politically themed segment aired on LATV’s “Rockamole” and soon to be featured on the new “LATV LIVE”. “Tu Voz” captures the voice of the Latin community focusing on important community issues in the Los Angeles area such as the May Day March and the plight of the South Central Farmers.

Hidden Shoal Recordings Announce Beautiful Lunar Landscape Signing

The Australian digital music label, Hidden Shoal Recordings, today announced the signing of French trip-rock outfit Beautiful Lunar Landscape to its roster of artists.

Source: Hidden Shoal Recordings

The Australian digital music label, Hidden Shoal Recordings, today announced the signing of French trip-rock outfit Beautiful Lunar Landscape to its roster of artists.

Beautiful Lunar Landscape’s music is constructed with a cartographer’s sense of detail and direction. The band’s songs have a natural dynamism, shifting between all-out bliss rock to haunting ambient pop, at times recalling the shimmering intensity of Ride or The Boo Radleys at their respective peaks, yet managing to transport the listener beyond the familiar.

“ever wanted to hear what Portishead would sound like melded with a shoegazer aesthetic?... It is absolutely, spell-bindingly brilliant...
you are left mesmerised by the expansive and wide-reaching nature of the sounds BLL can create” - Boring Machines Disturbs Sleep

Beautiful Lunar Landscape formed in October 2003 in Bordeaux, France. Since then, Ben Ling (vocals/synths), Benoit Paissard (bass), Manu Georg (drums), Laureline Roux-Eymery (vocals), Arnaud Sigonney (guitar), and Julien Sussat (guitar) have released two acclaimed EPs, toured England and France, and received extensive radio play on both sides of the Channel.

Beautiful Lunar Landscape’s Alone in the Dark Romantic Night EP will be released through Hidden Shoal Recordings on the 4th of September. The EP’s four luscious tracks transport the listener across ink-black expanses reverberating with a wonderful sense of drama and mystery. This is twenty-first-century trip-rock.

Hidden Shoal Recordings is an Australian-based independent digital music label. The label is a unique marriage of contemporary distribution, marketing and publicity with traditional indie label values and, most importantly, a wonderful catalogue of releases.

Hidden Shoal Recordings current catalogue includes releases that slip between the edges of experimental ambient work, shoegazing pop, post-rock and indie rock. The label has earned a reputation for releasing exciting and engaging new independent music that is not bound by genre or style.

The Forest Comes Alive!

This summer something special is happening in the forest. A celebration of music, art and the environment, aptly named The Forest Festival, takes place from Aug 25 – Sept 3 at various locations throughout the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve.

This summer something special is happening in the forest. A celebration of music, art and the environment, aptly named The Forest Festival, takes place from August 25 – Sept 3 at various locations throughout the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve. The Forest Festival is the result of a partnership between Patria Music/Theatre Projects and the Haliburton Forest. Audiences and participants are invited to experience everything from poetry readings in the woods and on the water, stirring brass music echoing across a lake, great blues tunes resonating off the old timbers of a logging museum, installation art by noted environmental artists to educational workshops exploring the ecology of sound.

Last but not least, as piece de resistance, Patria Music/Theatre Projects is once again bringing the remarkable environmental theatre work of renowned Canadian composer, writer, educator and ‘acoustic ecologist’ R. Murray Schafer to the shores of a wilderness lake deep within the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve. Audiences will have the chance to experience a work described as “the most significant, remarkable and unique music theatre creation in Canadian history.” Mr. Schafer’s works reflect his reverence for the environment and draw their inspiration from ancient myth and ritual. Part opera, part theatre spectacular, part sacred ceremony, this year’s show, “The Princess of the Stars” defies description. Beginning at 4.00 a.m. audiences will gather in the pre-dawn hush, listen to Mr. Schafer’s haunting score and, while the sun rises, watch an epic battle on the water as more than 60 performers, musicians, singers, dancers, canoeists and craftspeople weave a spell of magic and mystery. Canadian media have said “the effect is beyond description” and have called R. Murray Schafer’s work “wildly imaginative and physically ambitious”.

For information about accommodations in the Haliburton Highlands, visit http://www.haliburtonholidays.com.

Patria Music/Theatre Projects is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1987 to produce the Patria Cycle of environmental theatre works while at the same time increasing public appreciation of the aesthetic arts and providing performance and skill enhancement opportunities.
